Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was in action for Brazil against Cameroon at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Friday evening, and his performance did not impress his nation’s media.
Brazil took on Cameroon in their final Group G match, with head coach Tite making a lot of changes to the team.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison started Brazil’s opening two matches against Serbia and Switzerland.
And they won.
Brazil were already assured of a place in the Round of 16 at the 2022 Qatar World Cup before the match against Cameroon.
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus disappoints for Brazil
Arsenal striker Jesus started instead of Tottenham forward Richarlison, and his performance left much to be desired.
The £265,000-a-week (Spotrac) star could not get involved in the match and looked a shadow of the player he has been for Arsenal in the Premier League this season.

Jesus really struggled to make an impact on the match, although you have to give credit to the Cameroon players for marking him out of the game.
Brazil lost 1-0 to Cameroon.
Brazilian news outlet Jogada10 gave Jesus 5 out of 10 in their player ratings.
The outlet said about Jesus: “He did not take advantage of the opportunity and did not manage to contribute much. In the second half he left for Pedro’s entrance.”
It is safe to assume that Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus will be dropped for Brazil’s last-16 game against South Korea, with Richarlison coming back into the team.
