Danish outlet BT gave their verdict on Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen and his cameo role for Denmark in a player ratings piece following Thursday night’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia in Zagreb – handing him a rating of just 2/6 stars.
Kristensen, 25, was one of eight summer signings made by Leeds. A reunion with Jesse Marsch after the duo’s time together with Salzburg. He started and finished his new side’s first five Premier League games, missing for the sixth.
So, a boost for Leeds fans to see Kristensen come off the bench for Denmark to win his ninth cap. Following Borna Sosa’s opener, Kristensen was on the pitch as Manchester United ace Christian Eriksen scored a wonderful equaliser.
However, Lovro Majer got the winner, succumbing Kristensen and Denmark to a 2-1 defeat in the Nations League clash. BT handed Kristensen, who played for 30 minutes, a rating of 2/6 and said it just did not work for him last night.
“Substituted on after 60 minutes for Daniel Wass. Came in to smash through some slightly tired opponents. But he just didn’t quite do that this time,” BT report, following Thursday night’s narrow loss to Luka Modric and his teammates.

While it would be difficult to attribute his tricky start to life at Leeds to his under-the-radar showing for Denmark – Kristensen has not been in the best of form. He has openly admitted that the Premier League is much harder.
The defender is still adapting. From being one of the best defenders in Austrian football with Salzburg – to the intensity of the Premier League. Leeds, and the club’s fans, are confident that he will reach the required standard eventually.
But it is another game in which Kristensen has struggled. Perhaps, he will be given the chance to start for his country and give a better account of himself. Denmark play host to France in Copenhagen on Sunday.
