Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been praised after helping Uruguay beat Brazil 2-0 in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Darwin Nunez was a real thorn in Brazil’s side as the Liverpool striker played a key role in a Uruguay victory.
Liverpool players have been all over the world playing for their countries, which his hardly ideal for Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds boss is hoping to see his players come back to Merseyside unscathed – especially with a derby against Everton coming this weekend.
Liverpool have again been saddled with the lunchtime kick-off after an international break, so players like Nunez featuring in South America and having to fly back to England is hardly ideal.

Darwin Nunez shines as Uruguay beat Brazil
Nunez at least turned in a superb performance as Uruguay beat Brazil 2-0 in Montevideo.
The Liverpool hitman opened the scoring for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, heading home having been left unmarked inside the box.
Nunez then turned provider after the break, showing incredible determination to pick out Nicolas De la Cruz for number two.
This was a great night for Uruguay and Nunez took centre stage with a match-winning performance in attack.
The Uruguayan media were seemingly impressed, with newspaper El Pais rating his performance at eight out of 10.
They noted that Nunez was ‘intense’ in the way he was pressuring the Brazil back line, even picking up a yellow card for a foul on Rodrygo.
They did though praise Nunez’s header to score and his hold-up play to set up De la Cruz, with no Uruguayan player rated higher.
“Intense pressures. He arrived late to the challenge with Rodrygo and it cost him a yellow. In the first goal situation he had, he sent it to goal with a header. In the second half, he positioned his body well, held on against the edge of the area and assisted De la Cruz to make it 2-0.”

Nunez must find consistency to become a Liverpool superstar
Nunez is one of the most baffling Premier League players around right now.
We have seen him squander golden chances like the open goal miss against Union Saint-Gilloise earlier this month.
We have now seen him contribute a goal and an assist to take down Brazil in style.
The variance cannot be that wide; we need to see Nunez level out his game a little.
Nunez is clearly a threat with his pace and physicality, but finding that consistency is the next step.
It’s no good being a three out of 10 one week and a nine out of 10 the next; the standards at Liverpool require more.
Let’s just hope that this display against Brazil gives Nunez the confidence to really kick on – starting with Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
