National media praise Tottenham target after shining v Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur target Johan Bakayoko has been praised by the Dutch media having impressed against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

PSV were in action against Arsenal on Tuesday night as their Champions League campaign came to an end.

The Eredivisie league leaders went behind as Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring, only for Yorbe Vertessen to grab a leveller.

Both sides pushed for a winner but couldn’t find one, meaning the Champions League group-stage ended in a draw for the two sides.

Arsenal and PSV have both advanced into the knockout stages and Tottenham Hotspur will surely have been paying close attention.

PSV unleashed winger Johan Bakayoko against Arsenal amid major Premier League interest.

Sky Sports reported in November that Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on signing Bakayoko.

The Belgian winger has dazzled this season, hitting three goals and eight assists in 15 Eredivisie games.

Bakayoko had great fun against Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, who operated as a makeshift left back.

The 20-year-old racked up three shots, three key passes and five successful dribbles, showing off his ability against top Premier League opposition.

Bakayoko impressed the Dutch media, with Voetbal International rating him 7 out of 10.

Voetbal Flitsen rated Bakayoko at 7.5 out of 10, the highest rating of any PSV player against Arsenal.

Voetbal Primeur went with a 7.5 rating too, stating that Bakayoko ‘embarrassed Arsenal’ with his speed and left foot, suggesting that he proved why ‘half of Europe’ want him.

The stats back up the positive reviews and Bakayoko’s performance will only add to the ever-growing hype surrounding him.

Tottenham were surely paying close attention and will have likely been impressed with the speedy winger ahead of the January transfer window.
