Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been praised by the Uruguayan media after helping his country beat Bolivia 3-0.
Rodrigo Bentancur played a key role as Uruguay beat Bolivia on Tuesday night.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was given a start as Marcelo Bielsa’s side ran out 3-0 winners against Bolivia in Montevideo.
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez bagged a brace, scoring either side of an own goal from Gabriel Villamil.
Uruguay continue to shine in World Cup qualifying, sitting just two points behind CONMEBOL leaders Argentina.
Tottenham star Rodrigo Bentancur shines in Uruguay victory
Bielsa is working wonders with this Uruguay team and Tottenham ace Bentancur is key to his plans.
The Tottenham ace started as a sitting midfielder in the 3-0 win over Bolivia, joining Federico Valverde and Nicolas De La Cruz in midfield.
Bentancur was praised by the Uruguayan media with El Observador handing him a seven out of 10 rating.
They suggested that Bentancur showed a ‘unique elegance’ in midfield, offering ‘touches of quality’ in the Uruguay engine room.
El Pais also went with a seven out of 10 rating, praising Bentancur for showing himself as a ‘permanent passing option’ in midfield.
They suggested that the whole game passed through Bentancur and he really helped Uruguay play through the lines.

Ange Postecoglou given something to think about
This is really encouraging stuff from Bentancur, who is still working himself back into form and fitness after months on the sidelines.
A major knee injury in February left Bentancur on the treatment table and facing a loan road back to recovery.
£21.5million midfielder Bentancur has now made three substitute appearances this season and is building himself back up.
Starting and impressing for Uruguay is a big deal for Bentancur, who may now believe that he has shown enough to be starting for Spurs.
Ange Postecoglou will be considering when is the right time to start Bentancur, but the absence of James Maddison may just tempt him into giving the Uruguayan a chance from the start.
Tottenham will want to be careful with Bentancur, especially after a long trip to Uruguay, but he may well push himself into the starting lineup with Postecoglou no doubt impressed with his display.
