The Croatian media are talking up the possibilities of parties in the streets if Hajduk Split sign Tottenham Hotspur veteran Ivan Perisic.
Ivan Perisic winning the league title with Tottenham Hotspur this season seems unlikely, but what about with Hajduk Split?
Tottenham have started the season well under Ange Postecoglou, dropping just two points from the first four Premier League games.
That leaves Spurs second at the moment, but few would really expect Postecoglou to have Tottenham challenging for the title at the business end of the season.
Spurs will have their ups and downs this season and fans won’t be expecting to see Tottenham truly battling with Manchester City for top spot.
One Tottenham player could still end up winning the title this season though – if he secures a potential January transfer.
Croatian media getting excited about Ivan Perisic to Hajduk Split
The player in question is Ivan Perisic, who hasn’t started a Premier League game for Tottenham so far this season.
The Croatian was actually expected to leave over the summer but has ended up staying in North London.
A 2024 exit will be coming one way or another; Perisic’s contract expires in the summer and there could be scope for a January exit.
Hajduk Split are interested in re-signing Perisic having previously had him in their youth ranks as a kid.
Born in Split and a boyhood Hajduk fan, it makes sense for Perisic to finish his career there.

Rumours were sparked over the summer and the Croatian media are now getting pretty excited.
Croatian newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija report that ‘a party would probably start’ in the street of Split of Perisic returns.
Not only is there the emotional impact of Perisic coming home, but also the potential implications for the Croatian title.
Slobodna Dalmacija suggest that Hajduk fans would start celebrating a title win if Perisic signed, believing that he could be the person to deliver them top spot.
Hajduk haven’t won the Croatian league title since 2005 now but they sit top right now and fans seemingly feel that Perisic is the man to bring glory in 2024.

Perisic could leave with Luka Vuskovic coming in
The reason why Hajduk fans and the Croatian media are getting excited about Perisic is because of Luka Vuskovic.
Hajduk teenager Vuskovic is expected to sign for Tottenham Hotspur very soon having shown huge potential in Croatia.
Vuskovic is only 16 and can’t actually play for Tottenham until 2025, so this is a long-term move for Spurs.
That has opened the door for Perisic to potentially go the other way, even if not as part of the Vuskovic deal.
Tportal in Croatia reported earlier this week that Perisic to Hajduk in January is ‘increasingly realistic’ with the money from Vuskovic’s sale helping fund a move.
Tottenham are unlikely to put up too much of a fight and Perisic may well believe that the prospect of a league title with Hajduk before he retires is just too good to pass up.
