Gareth Southgate has praised the performance of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka for England yesterday.

Saka was selected to make just his second cap for his country last night, and he impressed from a left-wing back role.

The Arsenal youngster helped earn his nation a penalty after a strong burst into the box, and ultimately aided them in their 3-0 win.

Saka was actually awarded Man of the Match by England fans after the game.

And Southgate was impressed with how much better the Arsenal prospect looked on his second England appearance.

“Winks did well and Saka looked a lot more confident than he did in his last game,” Southgate said.

Saka could have a role open up for him in the England team, with Southgate’s left-back options limited.

Ben Chilwell seems to remain England’s first choice, but he has suffered badly with injuries, while Luke Shaw is also currently sidelined.

That could mean that Saka has a real chance of making it to the European Championships, if he does continue to impress in a Three Lions’s shirt.
