Scottish Premiership champions Celtic could solve their right-back problem by signing Liverpool’s Premier League defender Nathaniel Clyne.

The January transfer window opens in just over a months’ time and Celtic’s top priority is hardly a secret.
It is understood that Brendan Rodgers is desperate to sign a new right-back in the winter with Mikael Lustig entering the final few months of his contract (Daily Record). The Sun claims that Akhmat Grozny’s Milad Mohammadi is a target but a deal for Connor Roberts is now off the table after the Welsh international signed a new deal with Swansea City.
But reports from Wales Online claiming that Liverpool will agree to let Nathaniel Clyne leave in the January transfer window will surely not have gone unnoticed north of the border.
Clyne was one of the final signings made by Rodgers during his spell in charge of Anfield, Liverpool paying Southampton £12.5 million (BBC) for the England international just months before they sacked their manager.

And with Wales Online adding that Clyne is keen to leave after failing to make a single Premier League appearance all season despite recovering from a long-term back injury, the 27-year-old simply must be on Celtic’s radar.
Clyne would be a major upgrade on Lustig and a statement signing for a Celtic side who are seeing their domestic dominance challenged this season.
