The Nigerian winger is not playing badly, but certainly not well enough to give Spurs sleepless nights.

It is now nearly a year since Nigerian youth international Nathan Oduwa left Tottenham Hotspur. His exit disappointed many Spurs fans at the time, who felt he had the natural talent to make it in the game. His rapid pace and quick feet made him a highlight reel merchant on YouTube but he rarely backed it up with anything like an end product.
Considering the way Mauricio Pochettino has been giving opportunities to young players, some felt Oduwa might get a chance to impress in the first-team but that never happened.

When he did make his exit the location did come as a shock, as he decided to take the next step of his career in Slovenia.
Oduwa joined Olimpija Ljubljana on a three-year deal in a bold move which would surely pay off given his talent.
One year later though and Oduwa, who spent time on loan with the likes of Luton Town, Rangers, Colchester United and Peterborough during his Spurs stint, has not done much to convince Spurs they made a mistake.

He has played 20 times for the club, often only as a substitute and scored just the one goal in his time in Slovenia. He has not performed poorly and is a regular feature in the matchday squad for a side battling for the title. But considering his Tottenham training and background he would have surely hoped to be a bigger hit in Slovenian football.
