The West Ham United teenager will be hoping to get some chances next season.
West Ham United winger Nathan Holland has been speaking exclusively to Football.London about his manager Slaven Bilic and the exciting new faces that have arrived at the London Stadium this month.
The Hammers have put their early summer struggles behind them to secure Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez in quick succession, and along with free agent Pablo Zabaleta the squad now looks a lot healthier heading into the new Premier League campaign.
While West Ham have plenty of top players to choose from, they also have some of the most exciting teenagers in the country all chomping at the bit.
Holland is one of those, and he has defended Bilic after his manager received criticism for not giving youth a chance last time out.
“The gaffer definitely believes in us, I know that,” Holland told Football.London. “We have made a few great signings and it can only make us better by showing us (youngsters) what they can do and if the opportunity comes for me, I have to take it. I am loving it at West Ham.”
Holland was previously on the books at Everton but he moved to the Hammers in January and he has wasted little time impressing, featuring eight times for West Ham’s under-23s and finding the net twice in the process.
He has looked good during pre-season training and will be hoping to force his way into Bilic’s thinking despite the presence of some top attacking talent.
Predominantly a left winger, Holland should get some chances in the cup competitions provided he does not head out on loan next month.
