Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with Nathan Ake.
Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake has told Voetbal International, as translated by Football Oranje, that he isn’t paying attention to transfer rumours – and certainly hasn’t agreed to join Spurs yet.
Ake, 23, found first-team football hard to come by with Chelsea following a 2011 switch from Feyenoord, and flourished in a loan move to Bournemouth in 2016.
The Dutchman made his move permanent in 2017, and has thrived under Eddie Howe ever since, becoming a regular in the Netherlands squad under Ronald Koeman.
Ake was a part of the Netherlands squad which took on Germany over the weekend, and the game came just days after major speculation about his Bournemouth future.
The Daily Star reported that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Ake, whilst The Sun note that Ake is now Spurs’ top target to succeed Jan Vertonghen in defence.
Ake may well be the subject of major interest in January or next summer, and he spoke to reporters about the situation after Netherlands hammered Germany 3-0 at the Amsterdam Arena.
Ake has told Voetbal International, as translated by Football Oranje, that he has seen the rumours about his future, but if focused on his career with Bournemouth until he hears anything concrete – and added that he has not agreed to sign to make the move to London with Spurs in January.
“Yes, I’ve also seen it pass by, but of course it’s rumours,” said Ake. “At the moment I play everything at Bournemouth and that goes well, so I focus on that. If I’ve already signed in London? no, certainly not.”
“This does not say much about my status yet, they are rumours that come on the internet and as long as I do not hear anything myself, I will not go into that,” he added.
