Nat Phillips made his Champions League debut for Liverpool against RB Leipzig last night, and it looked like he’d been playing at that level for years.
The 23-year-old won the Man of the Match award after a colossal display alongside Ozan Kabak.
As WhoScored shows, Liverpool’s No.47 made five clearances – the most of any Reds player – while also winning three successful tackles.
It was a faultless display from the centre-back, and after full-time, his agency sent a four-word message about his future on Instagram.
Murdock Sports – who represent Phillips – posted a congratulatory message to their client on Instagram after his heroic display.

In the comments section, one fan asked them if they could clear up some confusion over when his contract at Anfield ends.
Some sites – such as Transfermarkt – state that it expires in June, although Murdock Sports have now confirmed that isn’t the case.
In response to the fan, they simply wrote: ‘It’s not this year.’
It’s good to finally get some clarification on this.
Liverpool already have to sort out Georginio Wijnaldum’s expiring contract, so they wouldn’t have wanted two of the same issue on their hands.
If Phillips keeps this kind of form up, he looks destined to have a bright future at Anfield.

His efforts really have been a joy to watch.
Who would’ve thought they’d be seeing Phillips win the Man of the Match award in a Champions League knockout tie back in the summer?
We certainly didn’t, that’s for sure.
