The Italian international was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
Manolo Gabbiadini
Everton wanted to sign Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini this summer, after missing out on Arsenal newbie Lucas Perez of Deportivo La Coruna.
But the deal always looked to be difficult.
At the beginning of the week Sky Sports Italia reported, as relayed by Football Italia, that talks between the two clubs had not gone well.
Manolo Gabbiadini
They claimed that Napoli wanted €25 million (£21.3m), plus another €5 million in bonuses. However, Everton had only offered €23 million (£19.6m) for the player and are not being progressive enough in their transfer negotiations.
Now the Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has commented on the club’s ability to keep hold of the Italian international.
Speaking to reporters, and quoted by CalcioMercato, he stated Gabbiadini was ‘unsellable’:
“We’re explosive in attack, too.
“Gabbiadini is unsellable because he’s in sync with our Coach, we think Sarri will get the best out of Gabbiadini.”

The failure of Gabbiadini’s deal was one of many for Everton on deadline day. They also failed to negotiate a deal for Porto winger Yacine Brahimi and Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who ended up joining Tottenham instead.
Everton eventually added to their striking options with the loan signing of Enner Valencia. But there is no doubt they would have preferred to have Gabbiadini available to them.
