Napoli have reportedly opened contract talks with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia amid transfer interest from the likes of Liverpool, with clubs keen on signing the attacker after a breakout season in Italy.
According to Il Mattino, the Serie A leaders have begun discussions with the 21-year-old attacker over a new contract, with Napoli eager for the winger to sign new terms after a ‘breathtaking’ start to life in the Italian top-flight having arrived from Georgia in the summer.
With the player’s agent recently telling Fabrizio Romano that Kvaratskhelia could easily be sold for €100m (£88m) next summer, it makes sense why Napoli are making moves to renew the attacker’s contract, with the youngster on course to exceed even that transfer valuation on current form.
Kvaratskhelia has bagged an impressive eight goals and ten assists in all competitions as Napoli topped their UEFA Champions League group and head into the 2022 FIFA World Cup break sitting eight points clear at the top of the Serie A standings.
And as a result, top clubs from around Europe are keen on signing Kvaratskhelia, with Calciomercato reporting that Liverpool are one of the sides tracking the Georgian international, with Manchester City also in the fray to sign the Napoli superstar.
However, Kvaratskhelia signing a new contract with Napoli would be a huge blow for Liverpool, with the attacker an ideal long-term replacement for the likes of Mohamed Salah. Meaning, the Reds should be acting fast on trying to get a deal done for the winger.

Napoli hit gold when they signed Kvaratskhelia this summer. And the attacker is already expected to be sold for at least ten times the amount the Serie A side bought him for a few months ago. However, the winger penning a new deal would be a disaster for clubs like Liverpool.
Indeed, Kvaratskhelia has the potential to become one of the best forwards in Europe based on his current form. And whilst Napoli have every right to sign the winger down to a new contract, Liverpool will be only hurting themselves if they didn’t move for the winger in January.
