Napoli are set to join the battle to lure Real Madrid’s Arsenal target Alvaro Morata and may have already made a provisional approach.
Alvaro Morata is certainly commanding some interest and looks likely to be a hot property in the summer transfer market.
The 21-year-old has been impressing for Real Madrid but has become frustrated at not having a more definite role at the club.
Arsenal were tracking Morata last summer and are said to be keeping a close eye on him. It has also been reported that Morata is happy to join the Gunners in principle.
Inter have also been watching Morata and he is one of three major targets as they look to galvanise their attack for next season, alongside Edin Dzeko and Fernando Torres.
But it seems that there’s a new contender for Morata’s affections in the form of Rafa Benitez’s Napoli, who may even have stolen a march on the other interested parties.
Benitez is said to prefer his compatriot to the other names on Napoli’s list of targets, which include Alberto Gilardino and Alessandro Matri.
