Napoli manager Antonio Conte has opened up on the future of Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has been linked with a move away from Naples.

Ever since Luciano Spalletti guided Napoli to a famous Scudetto victory during the 2022/2023 season, the future of Khvicha Kvaratshkelia and Victor Osimhen have been called into question.

For Osimhen, the Nigerian forward has been linked with a move to Chelsea but HITC have reported that those from Stamford Bridge have no intention to pay the release clause in the Nigerian’s contract, which is understood to be around £115 million.

The future of Kvaratskhelia has been seemingly quieter up until this summer but multiple teams have expressed their interest.

Napoli’s stance on future of Kvaratskhelia

HITC have reported that Napoli are keen on holding onto the winger, this is despite interest emanating from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

In fact, every top team from the Premier League is understood to hold an interest in the Napoli winger but the Italian giants have told those teams interested that they will have to look elsewhere as he is not for sale.

This has been echoed by new Napoli boss Antonio Conte, who was asked about the future of the Georgian winger in a press conference.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Conte said: “There are no doubts. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stays here and he will play for Napoli. There are no doubts, it’s all clear. Kvara will stay here with us”.

As well as Conte, Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis said: “There are clubs that make proposals to players with no authorization from the club, it’s illegal”.

“In that club there’s the president of ECA, but I’m not even surprised about those things in football. I’m always correct”.

Premier League clubs will have to look elsewhere

Last season for Napoli in all competitions, the exciting winger scored 11 goals and provided nine assists.

It is easy to see why some of England’s top clubs are keen on Kvaratskhelia but if Napoli’s president is to be believed, he will be remaining in Naples.

These clubs will have to pivot their attentions away from the Napoli winger who would have set these Premier League sides back around £120 million if they had pushed forward with a deal.

Kvaratskhelia demonstrated his quality for Georgia at Euro 2024 last night, inspiring his country to a win over Portugal.
