According to L’Unione Sarda, Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez is ready to join Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Inter Milan and AS Roma’s hopes of signing Nandez are reportedly fading away.
La Nuova Sardegna has added that the two Italian clubs are unable to pay the 25-year-old’s release clause, but Leeds will.
The release clause is €36 million (£30.89 million).
Would Nahitan Nandez make Leeds better?
Nandez has been at Cagliari since 2019 and is one of the better midfielders in Serie A.
The 25-year-old made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A last season.
The Uruguay international scored two goals and gave two assists in those games.
Nandez also scored two goals and gave three assists in 35 league appearances in 2019-20.

The Cagliari no.18 is a versatile player who can play out wide or in a more central role in midfield.
Nandez is a player Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been tracking for long.
According to a report in Centro Trentuno in September 2020, as covered by HITC Sport, Bielsa first became aware of the midfielder back in 2019 when he was at Boca Juniors and wanted to sign him for Leeds at the time.
It seems that Bielsa would get his wish now.
