If rumours are believed, Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks set to snub Southampton in favour of joining West Bromwich Albion on loan.

The 23-year-old is nowhere near playing regular football under Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

And in order to boost his hopes of making England’s Euro 2020 squad, Maitland-Niles, an Arsenal academy product, is keen to leave North London.

The Emirates Stadium side are understood to be willing to loan him out and West Brom and Southampton are among those keen.

And according to Sky Sports News, the player would prefer to join the Baggies over Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side.

Albion are looking like strong candidates to be relegated from the Premier League after winning only two of their 20 games this season, leaving them 19th in the table and seven points adrift of safety.

And some Arsenal fans are shocked that the England international would want to be involved in what looks like being a very difficult second half of the campaign for Sam Allardyce’s side.
