Raheem Sterling told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is the ‘Gaffa’s son’ whilst on England’s duty.
The Manchester City speedster shared that Kane is ‘never late’ for meetings and the Spurs player would arrive half an hour early instead.
A lot of pressure will be on Kane’s shoulders as England prepare for Euro 2020, with the Premier League’s highest goalscorer hoping to add another Golden Boot to his cabinet.
Sterling spoke about the healthy competition in the England group and who is the teacher’s pet in the camp.
“I think that’s what brings the best out of players (competition),” said Sterling. “If it’s just me, H (Kane) and Marcus (Rashford), just three of us at the start then you’re not really going to have that extra (push).
“If you know there’s somebody knocking on the door and there are other players who should be starting then you are going to be on your toes when you are given ten or 20 minutes.
On who is the Gaffa’s son/: “I’m actually thinking. Nah, I’m saying Harry (Kane). Yes, Harry’s the Gaffa’s son. Harry’s never late. If there is a meeting at 12 o’clock then Harry is there at 11:30.”

It will be interesting to see if Sterling lines up for England against Croatia on Sunday because there is some serious competition ahead of him.
There are loud calls for the likes of Phil Foden and Jack Grealish to both start, and if that’s the case, then Sterling may well find himself on the bench.
What doesn’t help Sterling’s cause is the above duo have performed much better than him this season and do deserve to start ahead of him in that regard.
But then again, Southgate might opt to go with experience and the fact that Sterling has done it for him in the past.
