Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left concerned about news from Sky Sports that Sergio Reguilon may not make it back fit in time to face Newcastle United.
Reguilon picked up an injury in Tottenham’s last match against Aston Villa and has been in North London over the international break working to get fit.
The left-back has not yet made it off the treatment table though, and with Spurs’ game against Newcastle on the horizon there are concerns over his fitness.
The latest reports have certainly caused some panic among Tottenham supporters, with their options at left-back now limited.
Ben Davies is already sidelined for Tottenham, so Jose Mourinho may have to reshuffle his side against Newcastle.
Spurs don’t have a natural senior left-back remaining in their squad, if Reguilon does miss out, so Mourinho could be tempted to call up youngster Dennis Cirkin.
Tottenham also have the option of playing Matt Doherty down the left, as they have done previously this season, but the Irish international is also a doubt to be fit.
Even with the injury issues, Spurs go into Sunday’s game as the heavy favourites to pick up the three points, with Newcastle United badly struggling of late.
