Dean Ashton has stated on Twitter that Jose Mourinho hasn’t made Harry Kane a better player, it’s just a case that the Tottenham man ‘knows what his game is about’.

In one of the most dramatic finishes to the season, Kane saw his stunning first-half display overshadowed by David Moyes’ men coming from three down, including Manuel Lanzini scoring a quite spectacular last-minute equaliser from long range.

As for Kane, he netted a brace during the game, but it was his ability to create that stood out and something which is now becoming a trademark for the sharp-shooter.

Ashton, who also works as a pundit on Sky Sports, doesn’t think Mourinho is behind his progression this season, it’s just the case that he’s a ‘class’ player.

In previous years, Kane has associated himself with hitting the back of the net time and time again, whether it be from long-range, five yards out, tight angle, powerful header, left foot or right foot – he has had the lot.

But the Englishmen, who has been likened to previous legends such as Alan Shearer and Teddy Sherringham can now match his name to perhaps the best playmaker in the country in Kevin de Bruyne.

And whilst De Bruyne has been the best creator in the Premier League in recent seasons, a certain Kane is now ahead of him in the pecking order because he’s proving that his lethal finishing is as good as that threaded pass.

All in all, he has turned himself into a near-complete player and when a certain Gareth Bale gets thrown into the Kane-Son mix in the long run, it’s going to ask the question as to whether Spurs could become champions of England in what has been an unusual season during these unique times.

But that West Ham comeback will have hit them hard and it’s a case of doing the same and ensuring they don’t have a 10-minute meltdown as they did on Sunday.
