Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be in the market for another midfielder this summer, and one name that just won’t go away is that of Marcel Sabitzer.
Spurs have been heavily linked with Sabitzer for over a year now, but the situation looks likely to come to a head one way or another this summer.
Reports of late have ramped up; Bild claim that Sabitzer wants to leave Leipzig and Tottenham have already made contact over a deal.
Football.London claim that Sabitzer is a main target for Spurs this summer, and a deal could materialise given that the Austrian has just over a year left on his contract.
The 27-year-old has bagged seven goals and six assists this season, whilst his versatility to play centrally or on the right flank has to be appealing.
Add in that he is a leader, currently serving as Leipzig captain, as well as being hard-working and dangerous from long-range, and he looks to be an exciting target.

Now though, Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann – heavily linked with Spurs himself – has told Bild that there is nothing certain on Sabitzer’s future just yet.
Nagelsmann believes the interest in normal, but seemingly isn’t ready to let his skipper – who has been branded a ‘mentality monster’ back home in Austria – leave the club easily just yet.
“With Sabi nothing is certain, neither in one nor in the other direction,” said Nagelsmann. “His contract with us runs until 2022. It is normal that many clubs deal with him,” he added.
