Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a host of managers in recent weeks in wake of Antonio Conte’s departure.

While Julian Nagelsmann appears to be the frontrunner for Spurs, there are other names still doing the rounds.

One of those is Arne Slot, who The Independent has claimed is an alternative for Tottenham if don’t get Nagelsmann.

And from the Netherlands, Voetbal International suggested that Slot has a ‘good chance’ of getting the Spurs gig.

There has been plenty of speculation about the 44-year-old from Dutch media outlets and pundits.

Now, Kenneth Perez of ESPN has made a bold claim about Slot that will come as a boost for Tottenham.

He told ESPN’s Voetbalpraat podcast, relayed by FR-Fans and Sport Witness: “I think he will leave.

“If a good club comes, he will go.”

Our view

Slot is a very talented young manager who has achieved “incredible” things at Feyenoord.

His credentials and style of play would certainly tick a lot of boxes for Tottenham.

Alasdair Gold recently described the coach’s philosophy as a “Pochettino in the making”.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord’s Oussama Idrissi told Algemeen Dagblad: “Slot was the best.

“Whether he will reach the top of European football remains to be seen, but I would dare to recommend him to clubs.

“He can develop players and get teams to play fun football.”

At present, it looks as though Tottenham are focusing fully on Nagelsmann.

However, should Spurs fail to land the German, Slot would be a great alternative for the north Londoners.

The Dutchman could well end up in the Premier League anyway, even if Tottenham don’t get him.

The Times has reported that West Ham and Crystal Palace are also keen on Slot.
