Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers took a mauling in the Old Firm.
Rangers legend Nacho Novo has sent a message to his former club’s fans on Twitter.
Fresh from their 5-1 demolition at the hands of bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday, Rangers supporters will feel understandably deflated.
The Gers fans had been waiting over four years for another local derby with the Bhoys in the Scottish Premiership, but it proved not to be worth the wait in the slightest.
Moussa Dembele scored twice inside 40 minutes, before Joe Garner threw his side a huge lifeline by halving the deficit just before the half-time whistle.
But the second half brought with it an onslaught as Scott Sinclair restored the two-goal lead, before Philippe Senderos, on his Rangers debut, picked up a second yellow card as Mark Warburton’s side had to face the final 15 minutes with 10 men.
Celtic took full advantage as Dembele completed his hat-trick and Stuart Armstrong completed the scoring in the final minutes, consigning them to downright humiliation.
But Rangers may draw solace from knowing that they are in Novo’s thoughts following the heavy defeat, which saw Warburton’s side – who have played one game more – slip four points behind the top-of-the-table Hoops.
Novo spent six years with the club, leaving in 2010.
