Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Jon Toral from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Former Rangers forward Nacho Novo has told The Daily Record that Arsenal youngster Jon Toral should leave the Ibrox outfit in the January transfer window.

According to The Daily Record, Scottish Premiership giants Rangers are interested in signing Toral on loan from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on a season-long loan deal at Spanish club Granada.

The youngster is struggling for playing time at the moment and has been able to make just six appearances in La Liga so far this season.

Former Rangers forward Novo believes that Toral should move to Rangers on a loan deal if he gets the chance to.

“But he is not even playing regularly for Granada so it should be a very easy decision for him to make,” Novo told The Daily Record about Toral. “It could turn out to be the most enjoyable six months of his life.

“Maybe he will want to stay for longer than the end of the season. Or maybe he’ll make such an impact that he’ll make the next step with Arsenal. Either way, it has to be better than going round La Liga, sitting on the bench.”

Toral is a promising and talented young attacking midfielder, and he would be a good signing for Rangers.

The Gers are unlikely catch Old Firm rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, but they have a great shot at finishing second.

Rangers will return to action on January 21 when they take on Motherwell at Ibrox in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
