Chadli joined the Baggies from Premier League rivals Tottenham during the window.
West Bromwich Albion’s Nacer Chadli in action against Bournemouth
Nacer Chadli has explained to the Birmingham Mail that it was hugely important that West Bromwich Albion managed to keep Saido Berahino at the Hawthorns this summer.
Berahino was once again linked with leaving the Baggies during the recent window, the Mail reports, but ended up staying put despite the speculation.

And Chadli – who joined the Midlands outfit in a club record £13m deal – has explained why it was so crucial that despite the 23-year-old’s current goal drought, the club managed to keep hold of him beyond the deadline.
“It’s important because we can’t play this whole season with just one striker,” he told the Mail.

“And Saido is different to Salomon, two different types of striker and we need that.”
Despite Chadli’s happiness that Berahino is set to stay put for the time-being, there is no denying that the youngster’s form needs to improve in the very near future.
The academy graduate has not scored for Tony Pulis’ side since February. And considering that Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu – who was left out of the squad that travelled to face Bournemouth at the weekend – are the only other senior striker options Pulis can call upon, Berahino rediscovering his shooting boots could be crucial to the club’s hopes of dragging themselves up the Premier League table.
