Nacer Chadli has seen Everton star Romelu Lukaku develop into one of Europe’s best strikers having worked closely with him on international duty.

Nacer Chadli has heaped praise upon Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, and insisted that his countryman is at the top of his game right now, the Daily Mirror reports.

Lukaku is enjoying a brilliant season in the Premier League, with 21 goals for the Toffees in the top flight, including nine in his last six games for Ronald Koeman’s men.

However, the 23-year-old’s future appears to lie away from Goodison Park, with the Mirror reporting that he has turned down a £140,000 a week contract offer from Everton, prompting speculation surrounding a £70 million exit.

And, perhaps slightly worryingly for Everton, Chadli has hinted that the former West Brom loanee can be a talisman for almost any team given his current ability.

“He scores, and he scores a lot of goals – those goalscorers are precious, and clubs can build a team around them,” he said, as reported by the Mirror.

“He seems almost at the top of his game at the moment, you see him score almost every week for Everton.

“And then he comes away with Belgium and scores a crucial equaliser that helps his country try to get to the World Cup.

“He can do anything in this game for club and country, and he works incredibly hard on the pitch.”

Of course, Chadli’s comments about Lukaku’s quality will come as no surprise to anyone given the form the striker has shown over the past few seasons.

But they perhaps take on more significance when Chadli is making such comments following an international game as Belgium boast one of the most star-studded teams in world football, so the idea of Lukaku thriving as the focal point of that side should arguably make him an even more attracting prospect to some of Europe’s heavyweights.
