The Belgian left Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but could follow in the footsteps of his former teammate and current Swansea City star in impressing at his new club.

Much has been made of Tottenham’s transfer arrivals this season, but several of the players that left White Hart Lane could go on to become major players for their new clubs, and arguably, none more so than new West Bromwich Albion man Nacer Chadli.
The Belgian proved himself a good Premier League player while in North London, with the capacity to at times be an excellent one.
Though he wasn’t always a starter, the 27-year-old exhibited decent goal returns during his three years at Spurs (25 goals in 119 games), and despite an accusation that he could sometimes go missing in certain matches, it would be no surprise if the Belgian popped up to score a crucial goal.

But West Brom could end up getting a player who is more dependable and more influential than he was at Spurs, much like another attacking midfielder who flourished after leaving White Hart Lane for a fellow Premier League side.
In fact, Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson is the perfect role model for any player that leaves a top four challenger in search of first team football and more responsibility at a football club.

The Icelandic international, like Chadli, left Spurs after failing to nail down a regular starting role at the club. He too had shown more than enough to underline his quality, but would end up on the bench as often as in the starting eleven at the Lilywhites.
Moving to Swansea, where he had played on loan before, gave Sigurdsson the chance to become a key man in a side, and with his quality it is no surprise that the 26-year-old has prospered, scoring 20 goals and assisting 12 more in his first two seasons.
Chadli has the quality, the technique and the goal threat to make a similar impression at the Hawthorns.

When Spurs bought him from FC Twente he had already demonstrated a superb goalscoring rate and level of attacking threat that helped him stand out from the majority of the Eredivisie.
Crucially for Baggies fans, the more important Chadli became for the Dutch side, the more impressive he became.
It would be no surprise if he thrives once more under the pressure of being a key player.
