Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea may be on alert regarding Nabil Fekir, as reported by The Sun, but the Lyon star’s agent’s latest comments – as reported by Metro – suggest that the France international could still end up at Liverpool.

According to The Sun, Fekir, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, has been offered to Premier League clubs for £66 million, with Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly on alert and Lyon claimed to be open to selling the Frenchman in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old’s agent, though, has stated that the attacker – who is part of the France squad for the ongoing World Cup in Russia – could still become a Liverpool this summer, despite a deal between the Reds and Lyon breaking down before the World Cup.

Just before the World Cup kicked off, the French club Lyon announced on their official Twitter page that negotiations over a deal for Fekir to move to the Reds had ended.

According to The Mirror, the two clubs had agreed a fee of £53 million, but complications in medical tests scuppered the deal.

Metro quotes Fekir’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, as saying about a potential move to Liverpool: “Um he didn’t sign because um… it is not over! This is not the end of the story.”

Excitement for Liverpool fans

Liverpool fans will be excited and optimistic following the latest comments from Fekir’s agent.

It is clear that manager Jurgen Klopp wants the France international, and although it is hard to see any deal happen during the World Cup, it seems that the Merseyside outfit could secure his services after the tournament finishes.
