Liverpool are reportedly pursuing Lyon star Nabil Fekir.
Lyon star Nabil Fekir has told RTL in France that he intends to see out his contract with the club, but couldn’t rule out a move to Liverpool.
Fekir, 24, was born in Lyon and has come up through the ranks with his hometown club, racking up more than 150 appearances for the club since his debut in 2013.
The attacker has enjoyed a remarkable season for Lyon, hitting 23 goals and nine assists in 40 games to earn himself a spot in the France squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Fekir may not start in the strongest France squad, but he has huge admiration from many across the globe – and major interest from clubs around Europe.
The strongest link with Fekir comes from Liverpool, as RMC Sport recently reported that the Reds have agreed a €70million (£61million) deal with Lyon to sign Fekir this summer.
That move hasn’t materialised yet, but speculation continues to surround Fekir’s future and, in particular, a potential move to Anfield.
Whilst Liverpool are busy preparing for this weekend’s Champions League final against Real Madrid, Fekir has spoken to RTL in France about his future, suggesting that he intends to see out his contract until 2020, but isn’t ruling out a move to Liverpool just yet.
“I am with Lyon until 2020 and after that, we’ll see,” said Fekir. “In life, we must not rule anything out,” he added.
