Liverpool have been monitoring the Lyon ace all summer long, according to reports.

Liverpool tried to sign Nabil Fekir earlier on this summer, but to no avail, and the Frenchman discussed his future today during an exclusive interview with OLTV, leaving the door open still to a potential switch to Anfield:
“As you can see, I am in Lyon. I am very good here. But the transfer window is still long and everything goes very fast in football. We do not know what will happen in the future but I am very good here. I feel great in the group. We have very good players, there is a good atmosphere.”
The 25-year-old World Cup winner is one of the continent’s best attacking midfield players, having risen to prominence last season with Lyon, chalking up 23 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
The Reds tried to bring him to Merseyside last month, but the transfer eventually collapsed, with concerns over Fekir’s long-standing knee problem and Liverpool trying to restructure the payments putting an end to any kind of potential deal.

Liverpool have already strengthened this summer, spending £180 million on four new players, but the addition of someone with Fekir’s quality would surely take them to an even higher level.
L’Equipe reported this morning that Lyon would still be open to selling the attacking midfielder, but for no less than £60 million.

Quite where he will end up remains to be seen, and some Liverpool fans took to Twitter today in reaction to his comments…
