Nabil Bentaleb will not be a Tottenham Hotspur player for long. The Algerian midfielder is currently on loan at Schalke 04 and will be joining the club permanently in the summer.
The midfielder, who was once considered a future first-team star at Spurs, saw his opportunities at the club decrease under the management of Mauricio Pochettino and therefore headed to Germany to improve his chances of regular first-team football.
Since making the move he has become a firm fan favourite with the Schalke fans and has today been speaking about his preference for the club over his parent team.
Speaking to Sport-Bild he mentioned how he was enjoying his time, especially in derby games, far more than he was with Tottenham:
“I’ve seen some derbies in London as a Tottenham player in England. The emotions didn’t come as quickly as with Dortmund against Schalke.
“In this game I noticed, blue blood flows in my veins.”
Bentaleb has impressed at Schalke but Spurs fans have been left disappointed with some of his comments about the club since his exit.

Tottenham fans will no doubt be disappointed to hear his latest sentiment but it is good to hear he has found happiness at his new club.
Spurs are due to make good money on his sale in the summer and appear a better team without his services.
It looks like all parties have all come out of this a winner.
