Brighton and Hove Albion have received a huge offer for midfielder Moises Caicedo – and it isn’t from Chelsea.

Moises Caicedo is a wanted man with Chelsea potentially missing out on the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that an ‘unidentified club’ have made an offer for Caicedo.

It’s stated that the offer is higher than Chelsea’s last bid for Caicedo, which totalled around £80million.

Brighton are standing firm though as they believe that Caicedo should be worth just as much as Declan Rice.

Arsenal struck a deal worth £105million for Rice, so Brighton want a similar fee for Caicedo.

Chelsea are now considering other options after their latest bid was rejected, and that may have opened the door to other interest.

Could Arsenal or Liverpool have made Moises Caicedo bid?

This report will leave fans guessing over just who could have made a move for Caicedo.

The first port of call is Arsenal, who have liked Caicedo for a while now.

Arsenal famously chased Caicedo during the January transfer window, failing with a £60million bid according to Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal went up to £70million but Brighton rejected all their bids, keeping hold of Caicedo beyond January.

Caicedo even admitted in April that he was ‘really close’ to joining Arsenal in January and was attracted to them because of the way they develop young players.

The rumours have continued of late with Football Transfers stating in May that Caicedo had agreed personal terms with Arsenal and Brighton were expecting a deal.

Reporter Graeme Bailey even indicated last week on the Talking Transfers podcast that Arsenal could still make a move for Caicedo this summer.

Many thought their interest had ended after signing Rice but maybe the Gunners aren’t out of the race just yet.

Liverpool would be another strong contender having lost both Jordan Henderson and Moises Caicedo to Saudi Arabian clubs.

Liverpool have been focused on signing Romeo Lavia but we could hardly blame them for fancying the ‘magnificent’ Caicedo.

The price tag may be a little lofty for Liverpool but the idea of reuniting him with Alexis Mac Allister should appeal to the Reds.
