Myles Beerman and Zak Rudden both took to Twitter after Rangers’ development squad notched up another impressive victory as they beat AEK Athens 4-1 on Tuesday.

The development side put out a strong team for the games, with the likes Rudden, Serge Atakayi and Glenn Middleton getting the chance to impress, while players who have had a taste of first-team action in the past such as Beerman and Jamie Barjonas also started the game.

There was also a place on the bench for Liam Burt as he continues to battle back from injury. But there was no question who stole the headlines in the win.

Rudden scored a hat-trick as the Gers came from behind to beat their Greek opponents in emphatic fashion – captain Stephen Kelly scored the Light Blues’ third goal in the victory.

After the match, both Beerman and Rudden took to social media to comment on the victory. Beerman is currently on loan at Scottish Championship side Queen of the South but has not played too often lately, so he would have been pleased to get some minutes under his belt.

Meanwhile, Rudden will be hoping that his form catches the eye of the first-team coaches. Rangers have some very good striker options right now, so the 18-year-old will know how valuable it is that he takes every chance that comes his way.
