David Ornstein has batted away Harry Redknapp’s claim that Daniel Levy already has a manager lined up at Tottenham Hotspur on the Ornstein and Chapman podcast.
Redknapp claimed last week that he felt there was no way that Levy would have sacked Jose Mourinho without a replacement lined up.
However, Ornstein suggests that is exactly what the Tottenham chief has done.
He said: “My understanding is no, unlike on previous occasions which is what Harry is referring to, they haven’t got somebody lined up and they are running a proper process this time because they have to get it right.”
Tottenham’s mission to bring in a new boss may not have gone to plan so far.
Spurs have been linked with Julian Nagelsmann but he has joined Bayern Munich, while Brendan Rodgers appears to have no wish to take the job.
The Daily Mail now report that Tottenham are looking at other options, with Levy seeking a quick appointment.
The pressure on Levy to find the right man has increased in recent times, with Spurs supporters now calling for him to go in their numbers.
Levy’s decision to join the Super League and appoint Mourinho have to be seen as huge errors.
If Levy does get the next manager wrong then it could be disastrous for him and Tottenham.
But the Mail does at least claim that Tottenham want an attacking boss, which will be a fresh change from Jose Mourinho, who was widely criticised by supporters for his defensive stance.
