Speaking on his YouTube channel, Goal journalist Charles Watts has claimed that there is no substance to the rumours linking Willian with a move to Chelsea.
It has been reported that Willian will be leaving Arsenal this summer, and while Watts believes that is the case, he says that the links to Chelsea are generally wide of the mark.
What’s being said?
Willian looks likely to leave Arsenal, but this journalist believes that a return to Stamford Bridge is simply out of the question at the moment.
“Willian, a lot of people are asking about Willian. My understanding is the links to Chelsea, by all accounts, are just rubbish. That’s just not going to happen, he’s not going to end up going back to Chelsea, but he could leave Arsenal this summer, there is that possibility, but as far as I’m aware nothing is really active at the moment with Willian and a new club for him. Arsenal wouldn’t be against it, Willian wouldn’t be against it, but as far as I’m aware, he’s not close to signing for anyone as it stands.”

Makes sense
The idea of Willian re-joining Chelsea always seemed to be a little far-fetched.
The Brazilian was let go by the Blues just a year ago, and after what has arguably been the worst season of his career, it would make no sense for them to want to bring him back.
Willian does seem likely to leave Arsenal this summer, but it looks as though the winger may have to take a step down to get his move away from the Emirates.
