John Aldridge has claimed that Newcastle United are signing a ‘very, very good player’ in Real Sociedad striker, Alexander Isak, as he told Sky Sports Football (24/08/22 at 7:35 pm).
The legendary striker who played for Real Sociedad suggested that Newcastle United will be going to the ‘next stage’ by securing the transfer of Alexander Isak.
Eddie Howe is yet to add to his forward line this summer, but that is all about to change, and in some style, because if this Isak deal goes through then it will be a club-record £58 million transfer.

Callum Wilson and Chris Wood are the striking options currently at St James’ Park, with the recently transformed midfielder Joelinton another option.
But Isak is better than both Wood and Joelinton as a number nine, whilst from a technical and versatile standpoint, the 22-year-old could argue that he is better than Wilson.
Nonetheless, Liverpool legend Aldridge knows a thing or two about putting the ball into the back of the net, as he shared his thoughts on Isak.
“This is the first phase,” said Aldridge. “They showed against Man City at the weekend, the buoyancy of the club and where they are at now.
“It’s starting to kick in. You see the stadium. The atmosphere. They are playing extremely well. But they have to go to the next stage.
“Now, this player coming in from Real Sociedad, because of my ties with the club I know about him. He’s young and he’s hungry. He is a very, very good player. And they mean business.”

ISAK WILL COOK AT NEWCASTLE
It’s only half a season’s worth of games, added with the start of the new Premier League campaign, but has any Newcastle signing under the new Saudi-led ownership been a letdown yet?
The answer would be a big fat no and that’s down to Howe and the manner in which he has helped transform the club.
Isak added with Howe’s coaching ability will allow the Sweden international to cook in the colours of Newcastle and ensure that he is a player for the now and also the long-term future.
With Wilson’s possible injury, Isak might be thrown into the deep end pretty much straight away – the Toon Army faithful will travel to Wolves on Sunday.
