Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka proved his class on Thursday night.
England thumped the Republic of Ireland 3-0 in a friendly at Wembley and the 19-year-old Gunners sensation was named Man of the Match for his performance.
Operating in a wing-back role on the left, the Arsenal academy prospect dazzled throughout and always looked a threat to the Boys in Green.
This was only Saka’s second appearance for the Three Lions and his debut against Wales didn’t go brilliantly last time around.
But this was a big reminder over the youngster’s undeniable ability – and even Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is a fan.
Saka uploaded a post-match photo of himself holding his award on Instagram, followed by the caption: “Great performance last night. Happy to top it off with the MOTM trophy.”
And Sterling was among the people who responded, posting: ‘My player.’
Saka is tipped for a glittering second full season in North London.
His first yielded four goals and 13 assists across all competitions, forcing Arsenal to extend his contract – and a £30,000-a-week pay rise – following tentative speculation about moves to the likes of Liverpool.
