Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after finding some five-second footage of Matt Doherty facing Wolfsberger last night.
The video in question shows the £14.7 million signing from Wolves receiving a pass from Harry Winks.
Then, Doherty tries to control the ball and pick his head up to find a pass.
However, once he looks down again to make contact with the ball, he realises that it’s now at the feet of Wolfsberger’s Jonathan Scherzer.
It was a bit of a brain-fart from the Republic of Ireland international, as he took his eye off the ball for just a split second.
Despite this little blip, the Tottenham No.2 had a fairly solid game.
WhoScored shows that the 29-year-old made three key passes against the Austrian outfit – no player on the pitch recorded more.

Doherty also made three successful tackles, and completed four of his attempted five long-range passes on Wednesday night.
He also completed one cross, and was fouled once.
Sadly, despite that, most fans will probably remember his little slip-up above all the good things he did.

It’s just the way it looks in the video that makes it baffling. Because Doherty’s head is up looking for a pass as the ball rolls away, it looks as if he has no immediate interest in winning it back.
The Irishman had a decent game, and shouldn’t let this small moment define his evening in the Europa League.
Let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to the five-second clip…
