According to Rudy Galetti, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with Antonio Conte reportedly viewing the Nigerian striker as the ideal replacement for Harry Kane if he leaves.
Kane, of course, has been strongly linked with a move to Bayern Munich over the past few months, and if he does go to Bavaria, Spurs may look to raid Napoli for Osimhen.
It’s interesting that Conte reportedly believes that Osimhen could be the perfect Kane replacement. After all, the striker has named Kane as one of his inspirations in the past.
Osimhen idolises Kane
The Napoli forward named Kane as one of his idols when speaking to Corriere Dello Sport a few months ago.
“I’m very happy at Napoli, I feel really good here. This city makes me happy,” Osimhen said.
“My inspirations are Harry Kane and Didier Drogba”.
Chance to show his skills
Osimhen says he wanted to be just like Kane, and now, he may get the chance to prove that he’s as good as the England captain.
Indeed, Osimhen may soon get the chance to play in the same team and the same system that Kane has been shining in this season.
The fact that Osimhen has been inspired by Kane bodes well for Spurs. After all, they will want a like-for-like replacement if their star man leaves, and it seems as though Osimhen may well tick that box.
With Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte knowing Serie A like the back of their hands, this is a deal that could easily come to fruition in the summer if Kane is to depart.
With Kane entering the final 12 months of his contract, a summer departure could certainly be on the cards, especially if Tottenham, once again, fail to win a trophy.
