Massimiliano Allegri is now edging closer to taking back over at Juventus after links with both Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur of late, as per information on the Transfer Window Podcast.
90 Minutes have suggested that Allegri is a possible candidate to take over from the under pressure Jose Mourinho at Tottenham, while the Times said that Leeds had him on their radar in case Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t pen a new contract.
It seems that both the Premier League duo would have to move fast to land the Italian though.
That is because Duncan Castles says that Allegri is edging closer to taking back over at Juventus.
“My information is that Andrea Agnelli is considering bringing him back to the club and the idea has been floated that he should come in and take over from Andrea Pirlo,” he said.
“Pirlo has been a disastrous appointment for Juventus. They are currently fourth in Serie A, 12 points behind Inter and are in danger of missing out on the Champions League.
“Allegri has been looking for one of the biggest jobs in European football. He is expected to be back in a job this season, it’s gone on longer than he had hoped for.

“There’s an interest to see whether Manchester United change, and even more if Real Madrid change, but I’m told that he has not dismissed the possibility of going back to Juventus.
“What would be required for him though would be a degree of control over recruitment that he didn’t have perviously. He wants to have more say over what players are moved out and which players come in.
“What I’m hearing from people close to Allegri is that it is possible he would take that job.”
Leeds are unlikely to be unduly concerned by Allegri’s potential decision to take over back at Juventus, as Bielsa is still in charge.

However, if Bielsa does surprisingly depart then Allegri could have been an appealing option to have at Elland Road.
The 53-year-old may also have been an exciting alternative to Mourinho for Tottenham.
But it seems that they do have other candidates that they prefer, if they sack the Portuguese boss.
And Allegri may well be of the market by the time Tottenham are searching for a new manager anyway.
