Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to ‘have a right go’ at Tottenham’s defence when the second north London derby of the season is rescheduled, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The former striker doesn’t seemingly rate Tottenham’s backline, hence his comments, but he does feel they are strong as an ‘attacking force’.
Arsenal wiped the floor with their neighbours earlier on in the season, when Mikel Arteta’s side beat then-Nuno Espirito Santo’s players 3-1 at the Emirates.
But with Antonio Conte in the dugout now, their own fans behind them, those in Tottenham fans will feel they have a chance of getting revenge.
The reverse fixture was meant to be done and dusted in January, but COVID seemingly put a stop to that and now fans are waiting for the game to be rescheduled.
And when the duo lock horns with one another, then Campbell has sent this clear message to the Gunners regarding their rivals.
“As an attacking force, they are good,” said Campbell. “But we have to have a right go at that defence. My goodness.
“Their rearguard. Wow. We need to have a right go at their defence.”
When both teams do meet, the obvious of a Champions League place being on the line will be up for grabs.
The London duo aren’t just competing with themselves, but they also have the likes of West Ham, Manchester United and Wolves around them.
Either way, if either Spurs or Arsenal earn that fourth spot, then not only will it win them the bragging rights of north London.
But it will also have huge bearings in the transfer market and who they can lure to the club in the summer. That’s perhaps the biggest and most important part of them all.
