Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are calling for Graham Potter to be named as their next manager after Brighton & Hove Albion’s display yesterday.
Potter has been heavily linked with Tottenham since Jose Mourinho’s departure, with Football London suggesting that Spurs’ players would be open to him joining.
Tottenham fans, therefore, watched Brighton’s game yesterday with more than a passing interest.
Albion were actually beaten 2-1 by Wolves after Lewis Dunk’s red card really negatively affected their game-plan.
But Brighton’s showing was enough to convince Tottenham supporters that his tactical plans could be well suited to their squad.
Brighton have actually played some very eye catching football this season, despite occupying a place in the bottom half.
Potter’s side’s major problem has been their lack of ruthlessness, but Tottenham shovel theoretically have no such issues.
The likes of Harry Kane and Heung Min Son are some of the best finishers in the Premier League and there is a feeling that they could thrive, if Potter played with a similar style at Tottenham.
However, the risk is that Potter has never managed a side with the same ambitions of Spurs.
And he would be making a big step up if he was to join the North London club, despite still being relatively inexperienced as a manager.
