Arsenal fans lauded Tottenham striker Harry Kane after England reached the final of Euro 2020 on Wednesday night.
In a tense and nail-biting game at Wembley, Kane scored the crucial goal in extra-time against Denmark to send England to their first major tournament final since 1966.
Even though he reps the other side of London, Arsenal fans were left wowed by his performance last night.
Kane may have struggled and failed to find the back of the net during the group stages, but he’s showing his worth when it matters most in the knockout stages.
It was Kane’s brilliant through ball to Arsenal teenager, Bukayo Saka, that resulted in England equalling after Mikel Damsgaard put his side ahead with a brilliant free-kick.
But England’s front three of – Sterling, Kane and Saka were linking up brilliantly as the game wore on, after struggling during the early stages.
This is probably going to be the only time Arsenal supporters cheer Kane, but they were admitting that they were raring him on in yesterday.
There is a real sense of togetherness in this England side and it’s quite clear that all club rivalries have been put to one side.
During the previous so-called ‘Golden Generation’ that wasn’t the case, but there is a much more family feel this time around.
And all of that, along with the quality on show, has resulted in England being in a situation where they are one win away from becoming Euro 2020 champions.
