Speaking to Off The Ball, Mark Lawrenson has named Thiago Alcantara as his favourite Liverpool player at the moment.

The Reds have so many likeable players right now. Mohamed Salah is arguably the best player in the world, Virgil van Dijk is dominant at the back, while Roberto Firmino plays with so much joy and flair.

However, for Lawrenson, his favourite player is Thiago.

What’s Lawrenson said?

The pundit had nothing but good things to say about the Spaniard.

“Yeah, he’s my favourite player Thiago. You know he’s got his socks down, he’s so aware of everything that happens on the pitch, he’s got a radar, his passing is fabulous, and he’s got that nasty streak as well that I like. He gives us another dimension and you can tell that all of the players love him as well,” Lawrenson said.

Easy to understand why

Lawrenson says that Thiago is his favourite Liverpool player, and it’s easy to understand why.

The Spaniard just makes everything look so easy on the pitch. He plays with effortless guile, but he also doesn’t sacrifice any intensity off the ball to play in this way.

When he’s at his best, there may be no better player to watch in the Premier League than Thiago.

The Spaniard is a real gem and Liverpool are very lucky to have him.
