Carlo Ancelotti has told Sky Sports that he believes Seamus Coleman was Everton’s Man of the Match against West Ham United yesterday.

Everton ran out 1-0 winners over West Ham, with the Toffees putting in a great defensive performance.

After the game there was much debate over who was Everton’s best player.

Sky pundits gave the honour to Allan, after his robust display in midfield.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin suggested in his post match interview that he felt he deserved the award.

Ancelotti, though, thought that his right-back was Everton’s best player on the day.

“Allan did really well, but I think my favourite Man of the Match was Seamus Coleman,” Ancelotti said, when asked to settle the debate.

Coleman certainly did play well, but the fact Everton had so many potential candidates to be Man of the Match proved just how impressive their performance was.

The Toffees were so organised throughout, as they stifled a dangerous West Ham team.

The three points really boosts Everton’s European hopes this season and has pushed them into eighth place.
