Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Rodrigo De Paul’s Copa America display for Argentina on Monday night.
The much-sought-after 27-year-old started for his country as they recorded a 1-1 draw against Chile, with Lionel Messi scoring a sublime free-kick, but it wasn’t enough for them to seal all three points.
De Paul is seemingly attracting interest from those in the Premier League, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds.
And it seems as though the highly-rated technician didn’t let those watching down yesterday.
Tutto Udinese recently claimed that Arsenal have now joined the race for De Paul’s quick-footed talents, with the likes of Liverpool and Leeds already putting the £35 million rated player on their transfer wishlist.
It seems as though Arsenal like the look of De Paul, but if clubs in Europe are looking to snap him up this summer then they will find it difficult winning the race for his signature.
Arsenal will always have a certain pull, but no European football at all will have some sort of effect going forward and they may just feel that this summer.
Plus, can Arsenal fans trust their board or owners to put their money where their mouth is and buy someone of De Paul’s talents? Probably not.
But they can all live in hope that the Udinese star might just swap playing alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina to playing behind Nicolas Pepe at the Emirates.
