Arturo Vidal has been speaking to TNT Sports about his future, with Tottenham and Aston Villa interested in signing him.

What’s the story?

Well, it was Inter Live who revealed that Tottenham are interested in signing the £86,000-a-week man when he leaves Inter Milan in June.

Elsewhere, Calciomercato claimed that Aston Villa are keen.

Now, however, Spurs and the Villans have received some bad news.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Vidal said: “My dream is to play for Flamengo, it’s a club that I really like and I want to win there, especially the Copa Libertadores.”

Evidently, the 131-cap Chile international is not desperate for a move to the Premier League, when he becomes a free agent this summer.

At the age of 34, Vidal has still been an important player for Inter Milan this season, making 32 appearances in all competitions.

The South American is a committed professional – you can see why Antonio Conte and Steven Gerrard admire him.

Tottenham and Aston Villa shouldn’t worry

Of course, it’s never nice to miss out on a transfer target.

However, in this case, Tottenham and Aston Villa shouldn’t be too upset if Vidal joins Flamengo this summer.

The former Bayern Munich maestro has never played in the Premier League before, and at the age of 34, it may be too demanding for his body.

England’s top-flight takes a lot of adaptation, and even some top players have struggled on these shores, such as Radamel Falcao.

Therefore, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Vidal decided not to join Tottenham or Aston Villa this summer.
