Former Celtic defender and Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has revealed that his dream is to one day player for Premier League giants Chelsea.
In an interview with Sport Bild, the 21-year-old fullback revealed that the west London side are the club he supported when growing up, with Didier Drogba his favourite player as the Ivorian legend dominated the Premier League during the 2000s and early 2010s.
Frimpong has exploded onto the scene with Leverkusen this season and has become something of a sensation for the Bundesliga side. So much so that Bayern Munich are now reportedly interested in signing the Netherlands youth international according to Sport1.
As per the report, Frimpong is valued at £25m, an incredible fee given that Celtic only sold the defender for just £11.5m according to the Daily Record. Yet since leaving Glasgow, the defender has developed into an impressive talent.
Frimpong has started all but two games in all competitions for Leverkusen this season as Gerardo Seoane’s side sit third in the Bundesliga standings. And whilst some Celtic fans might be dreaming of a return for the defender in the future, the youngster is already eyeing a move to Chelsea.
The defender said when asked about his dream transfer: “My dream club to play for will always be Chelsea. As a kid, I used to watch Chelsea games with my uncle, mostly because of Didier Drogba.”
Frimpong could make Premier League move after Leverkusen revelation

Frimpong has developed into one of European football’s most exciting fullbacks since moving from Celtic last year, and his dream of playing for one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs is a plausible goal for the Leverkusen superstar.
Indeed, Frimpong has shown in the Bundesliga this season to have the qualities to play top-level football, and for Leverkusen, the Dutch youth star could easily make a return to the United Kingdom to play in the Premier League.
