Patrick Bamford has admitted on the Leeds United podcast that his calf is still sore, despite him playing against Fulham last weekend.
Bamford was a doubt for the game when he limped off during Leeds’ match with Chelsea.
However, the striker was rushed back – and made a big impact against Fulham, as the Whites won 2-1 at Craven Cottage.
Bamford initially actually had doubts over whether he would be fit to make the contest, despite Marcelo Bielsa stating that he would be at his press conference before the game.
The Leeds striker was told by the fitness group that he would be okay, and from his performance it was impossible to tell he was carrying a knock.
But Bamford says that he is still currently in pain, although his involvement in Leeds’ next game after the international break does not appear to be in any doubt, thankfully.

“My calf is sore,” he admitted. “But there wasn’t any tear. It’s a bit of overuse, it’s basically overcompensating, but it’ll be alright.
“We had Saturday, Sunday and Monday off – had a scan Monday, went in for some treatment and I’ve had treatment the last few days. I’ll probably train back end of this week.”
Bamford’s comments may make Leeds fans quite grateful that he didn’t go on international duty now.
Bamford almost made the England squad, but it sounds like he would have been risking a more serious injury if he did have to link up with the Three Lions at this current stage.
Leeds return to action after the break with a game against Sheffield United, which looks a good chance for Bamford to add to his goalscoring account for the season.
